I have a question for my fellow solopreneurs: How do you show yourself love?
When you work for a company, you may get some sweet treats, shoutouts from your team, or even a little extra appreciation from your boss. But when you’re a solopreneur? No one’s handing you a cupcake or sending you an “employee of the quarter” email and bonus.
That’s why self-love isn’t just a personal practice—it’s a business strategy.
In my hot power vinyasa yoga classes at Yoga Box last month, I focused on self-love and how to cultivate warm, fuzzy feelings from within to help you feel empowered and cared for. The same principles apply to my entrepreneurship journey as I build Katrina Cameron Communications.
Here are three simple ways to show yourself some love as a solopreneur:
1️⃣ Celebrate Your Wins: Big or small, take a moment to acknowledge what you’ve accomplished. Landed a new client? Finished a tough project? Got through your inbox? Treat yourself—write it down, say it out loud, or take yourself out for a coffee.
2️⃣ Take Advantage of Your Flexibility: One of the biggest perks of being your own boss? You set the schedule. Give yourself permission to take a mid-day walk, enjoy a long lunch, or start late after a morning workout session. You don’t need permission to prioritize yourself!
3️⃣ Be Patient with Yourself: The early days of solopreneurship can be tough—doubt creeps in, and imposter syndrome shows up uninvited. But just like in yoga, progress comes with consistency and self-compassion. Trust the process, and remember: you’re building something meaningful.
